Primary Function:
The basic function of an Optician is to generate profitable sales for the Company. This must be accomplished through the creation of a customer-focused, retail selling culture that ensures equal, premier customer service, customer retention and a positive team environment among associates and doctors.
The essential functions of this position include the following:
· Generating profitable sales as measured by:
o Execution of GULEC Customer Service Standards
o Average customer transaction growth
o Productivity as measured by STAR reports results
o Implementation and execution of Company-approved sales and traffic initiatives
o Attainment of daily sales goals as reported on the Power by the Hour Report
o Effective management of controllable discounts, refunds, remakes and credit memos
o Accurate pricing of sales transactions
· Creation of a customer-focused, retail selling culture as measured by:
o Execution of GULEC Customer Service Standards
o Completion and demonstrated competency of company training programs (i.e., SITE)
o Customer feedback (letters, web-site, phone calls, etc.)
o Fostering a team environment with Associates, Doctors and Dr. staff
o Effective execution and follow-through of Ready When Promised Program
o Effective execution of visual merchandising and presentation standards
o Exhibiting a professional presentation both in appearance and demeanor with customers, Associates and Doctors.
· Other duties as assigned by the Store Manager which include but are not limited to:
o Bank Deposits
o Cleanliness of retail and non-retail areas in the store
o Securing of the location
o Adherence to all Company policies and procedures
o Final inspection of eyewear and contacts
o Teaching insertion and removal to new contact lens customers
o Dispensing eyewear/contacts (adjustments included)
o Trouble-shooting eyewear/contacts and repair
o Providing optical service to customers as required by state law
