Roles and Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role are wide ranging and varied. They will be tailored to your personal ambitions and expertise. The Scottish Pensions team is based in both our Edinburgh and Glasgow offices. The team was established 4 years ago and has grown significantly each year, This growth has been generated by our tremendous success in winning new business and our commitment to recruiting the most talented people in the industry. Your role will be based in our Edinburgh office where you will work closely with the existing team. The key work streams within the department include :

- Providing support for o ngoing corporate advisory and Trustee relationships

- Corporate strategy projects such as scheme design, liability management, actuarial valuations

- Trustee projects such as actuarial valuations, individual calculations, preparatory work for trustees’ meetings

- Mergers acquisitions involving both UK and international pension arrangements

- Supporting the audit teams in understanding the actuarial aspects of financial statements
Irrespective of the area you are working on you will be expected to :

- Support in delivering projects in the required timescales

- Take responsibility for managing day-to-day workflows on projects

- Analyse information to produce or review high level numbers that will form part of a report

- Draft reports and other correspondence setting out findings and advice

- Attend client meetings developing new ideas and advice

- Liaise with your peers around KPMG (such as TS, audit, tax and corporate restructuring)
