Performance Analyst, Site Oil Sands Mining
Location: Calgary or Edmonton/Fort McMurray

The Design Group Mining Division in collaboration with our client, a Global Leader in the Energy sector, is looking for an experienced Performance Analyst. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent you will be responsible for development, coordination and stewardship of the maintenance budget process and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation and analysis of monthly accounting, forecasting, annual budgeting and long range planning.
- Responsible for stewardship of warranty claims and core charge recovery processes.
- Responsible for ensuring accuracy of contractor invoicing, payment and warranties.
- Provide analyses and support to continuous improvement projects
- Provide maintenance model outputs to support maintenance capital budget development.
- Coordinate the business area results with senior management and investigate deviations in monthly charges.
- Responsible for the stewardship of internal financial reporting.
- Provide support to Project Managers, including analysis of competitive bids and development of recommendations as part of commercial evaluations.
- Provide support and data collection in preparation air emissions reporting to various governmental and non-governmental organizations.
- Collection and reporting of business area costs, including operating, maintenance and fixed assets (billed and accrued).
- Provide support to business processes that results in improved information analysis.
- Perform special projects and provide support as requested by area management.
- Develop and maintain appropriate financial controls and provide advice on the internal control environment and opportunities for improvement.
Key Qualifications:
· University degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce and/or Masters of Business Administration and/or a recognized accounting designation (CMA, CGA or CA).
· Minimum 5 years industry experience in mining, heavy industrial or oil gas.
· Experience in the management of activity based budgets.
· Experience working with Excel and SAP.
· The ability to communicate across the department on issues as well as up the organization, both verbally and written.
· Experience participating in continuous improvement projects.
· Have an advanced understanding of metric reporting and analysis.
