PERFORMANCE ANALYST

Below is a partial list of duties for this position:

 

Maintains performance data for portfolios and composites within performance system and performance database software.

Responsible for in-depth performance analysis of domestic and international equities and derivative-based portfolios on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

Manages benchmark data and assists in creation and calculation of custom benchmarks.

Prepares periodic internal and external published performance reports, simulations and analyses.

Maintains historical performance returns in the performance database and is responsible for data migration between the performance system and the performance database.

Assists with daily pricing process, batch job management and systems troubleshooting on an ad hoc basis.

Assists with planning and implementation of systems changes, user requirements, and process optimization.

Assists Systems with database upgrades and overall general enhancements to the performance database (i.e. user acceptance testing, verification of data fixes, test accounts, new report specifications).

Researches performance-related issues and maintains a deep understanding of the GIPS Standards as they pertain to traditional and alternative investment products.

Works with external verifiers during the annual GIPS verification.

Supports Marketing Group with performance related issues or reporting needs.

Researches current market trends and reads current literature to meet demands of ever-changing industry and product offerings.

 

Experience and Education:

 

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other quantitative disciplines or equivalent experience, and (ideally) two or more years of relevant experience and/or training within the investment management industry.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to FQ Management.

Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts such as exponents, permutations, and geometric growth.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw and communicate valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with moderately complex systems interactions.

Familiarity with investment industry and financial instruments helpful. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel highly preferred. Experience with, or interest in learning, VBA, SQL, a plus. Overall attention to detail and ability to work under pressure while balancing competing priorities critical.
