Performance Analyst recruitment

Overall purpose of the role:
• Management Information Statistic (MIS) and Service Level Agreement (SLA) maintenance
• Produce accurate and timely Performance data
• Performance reporting follows a monthly cycle for the Institutional Marketing / Fund Managers / Senior Management.
• Each member of the team is an integral part of the process.
• All members of the team can provide and explain Attribution reports to other departments
• Each member of the team assists where necessary to produce ad-hoc Performance data for other Departments
• Provide feedback to the Investment Decision Process.
• Maintain strong internal / external relations
• Help drive team forward and promote team working
• Performance reporting for T+15 Client Reporting efforts
• Project work

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Job rotation and career enhancement (formal and informal training) is also a part of the ethos within the team environment. 
These include :
• Produce accurate Performance Reports using a variety of internal and external systems on a monthly basis for Client Reporting, Institutional Marketing in a timely manner and for internal Heads of Desks reporting.
• Relationship management and relationship building
• To prepare, input on a monthly basis the production and output containing Performance data to include Market values, Fund Returns and comparative Index returns.
• Produce Attribution reports to quantify and follow Investment Decision Process
• Produce Performance returns for Board Papers and Report Accounts for all Product ranges – eg Investment Trusts, Unit Trusts, SICAVs, OEIC’s, Exempt Funds.
• Fundamental involvement to help maintain GIPS Compliance for client
• Perform ad-hoc requests
• Management Information Statistics
• Develop positive relationship internally / externally to ensure smooth exchange of Performance data such as Clients / external vendors / Fund Managers / IT Dept.
• Familiarity with non-standard assets – eg Forwards, Hedging, Derivatives
• An understanding of Ex-ante Risk metrics . Explain and interpret ex-post Risk statistics
• Familiarity with interfacing Performance systems with Accounting Systems

Person Specification
Overall skills required:
 System solutions : WM Spectrum / Statpro Composites / Statpro Performance and Attribution / StatPro Fixed Income (SFI) / Factset
•Data feeds : Hiportfolio / Datastream / FACTSET / Bloomberg  / External providers
• PC Skills : Advanced Excel skills (macro level) /  VBA an advantage

Educational Level/professional qualifications (minimum requirement):
Degree or equivalent – mathematical related subject preferred
An aptitude for mathematical information
Initiative and Drive
PC Literate
IMC or CFA preferred

Years/breadth of experience:
Some experience in a Risk / Performance role within an asset management company would be ideal

Ability to manage deadlines and expectation of others
Working within a large team of analysts (20) and open plan environment
