Performance Analyst recruitment
Performance Analyst is part of the team which is recognised as a center of expertise for Investment Risk within the Shell Group. The ultimate team goal is to make every investment decision, mandate and portfolio transparent when it comes to how returns are related to risks. One of the key elements of this role is assisting senior risk management in a very varied number of activities such as providing insight in performance drivers of investment and developing performance analytics to cutting edge level for all client portfolios.

Responsibilities:
As someone with outstanding analytical, communication and relationship skills, you will be interacting with various internal and external stakeholders such as portfolio managers, senior risk management and company executives as well as system vendors.
Principal accountabilities
As a Performance analyst you will be responsible for providing insight in performance drivers of investment portfolios using Pearl and other systems, simplifying and standardising the reporting process and systems whilst maintaining and improving reporting excellence.
You will be supporting the risk management team with:
- Contributing to developing performance analytics to cutting edge level
- Ensuring that the analysis tools are run accurately and on time
- Seeking opportunities to provide insightful analysis to support the Trustees and SAMCo in decision making
- Maintaining vibrant dialogue with the front office portfolio managers on the requirements and responsibilities on the analyst’s areas of responsibility
- Maintain dialogue with the system vendors and drive the SAMCo risk performance agenda
- Develop productive relationships with key stakeholders, to deepen the understanding of information and reporting need

Requirements:
With a passion for quantitative risk analytics, you will have exposure to or proven experience in a similar analyst role, particularly in (ex-post) risk performance. Also you have detailed knowledge of financial instruments and a solid understanding of database (SQL) and VBA programming.
You will hold a numerical university degree in (quantitative) Finance, Econometrics, Mathematics, Physics or Statistics.
Having a CAIA, FRM, CFA, CIPM or VBA qualification would be an advantage.
You will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a high level of accuracy, eye for detail and the ability to work independently. With a hands on approach obtaining, modeling and analysing data, you will feel comfortable working under pressure with deadlines and fixed milestones.
As a good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, you will be effective at building strong customer relationships in an international environment. Being a dedicated team player, you will have the ability to engage and work with people from other disciplines as well as the experience of working in high performance teams.
Excellent oral and written skills in English and preferably also in Dutch are key in this position.
