Performance Excellence Leader - Southwest Region - PAR00000XW Description Job Summary Avis Budget Group is looking for a Performance Excellence Leader to support our operations in the Southwest Region (Southern California, Phoenix and Las Vegas). The Performance Excellence initiative is a cornerstone of business strategy. Performance Excellence Leader candidates have training and certification programs custom designed to develop the skills, knowledge, experience, and expertise to achieve breakthrough level improvement projects. During the training, certification and participation period, all Performance Excellence Leader candidates will be required to devote full time (100%) to their Performance Excellence Leader role. The Performance Excellence Leader's role is responsible for assuring that processes are in place to promote and facilitate continuous improvement for a specified project across the organization. The Performance Excellence leader will create and direct all process improvement efforts and encourage decision makers to devote resources to improvement initiatives. They will partner with the Project Champion and interact with various departments and senior leadership in the development and execution of Performance Excellence projects. The Performance Excellence Leader will be expected to attend and successfully complete Lean Six Sigma training classes and achieve a high degree of knowledge and capability in the breakthrough process and the Lean Six Sigma methodologies. As a result of the extensive training and certification process, the Performance Excellence Leader will be expected to serve in that role for a period of not less than one year after graduation. At the end of one year the individual may continue as a Performance Excellence Leader for one year or move into another position. The essential duties and responsibilities as well as knowledge, skills and abilities include but are not limited to the following: Responsible for targeting completion of process improvement projects within a specified time frame while achieving a cost reduction goal. Partner with Deployment Leader and the Project Champion leader in, identifying, planning and implementing key projects to improve quality, reduce cost, increase productivity and improve cycle time by reducing wasted time, scrap, rework, etc. resulting in significant business improvement and customer satisfaction. Includes working with Project Champion to select local and expert team members. Actively lead teams and provide individual contributions after key projects have been identified. Provide appropriate management with project status updates, feedback, and reporting on selected projects through the project tracking system and management/project reviews and prepare and write a final report on each project per the final project report format. Identify and work to remove barriers that slow or prevent the successful attainment of process/productivity improvement and administrative efficiency that will lead to cost reduction and competitive advantage. Liaison with finance and other members of the organization in assessing, tracking and reporting the financial benefit of a Performance Excellence project. Work with Deployment Leader as well as other Performance Excellence Leaders to maximize understanding and improvement efforts of Performance Excellence. This position will report directly to the Executive team with a dotted line to the Deployment Leader and Project Champion.
