We are seeking an experienced Performance/Capacity Engineer for a direct hire position with an industry leading company in the St. Louis area. The engineer will be responsible for the evaluation, design, engineering, and benchmark testing associated with infrastructure performance or capacity configurations for multiple applications, platforms, or environments. Performance and Capacity Engineer

Direct Hire

 

Responsibilities

·        Responsible for Level 3 engineering support of complex system capacity problems, performance issues and outages.

·        Responsible for the design and engineering of performance solutions for applications, databases and various system components.

·        Responsible to produce performance capacity studies and reports results of performance or capacity optimization.

·        Responsible for the creation of detailed application/system performance and capacity analysis summaries, project plans and other related documentation and procedures.

·        Responsible for proactively evaluating the performance and capacity of the current infrastructure and recommends improvements.

·        Provides direction and strategy for performance and capacity requirements of applications within the infrastructure.

·        Responsible for the Performance and Capacity Reporting process.

·        Responsible for establishment of an annual hardware forecast which includes techniques for establishing a baseline, developing forecast requirements through LOB and infrastructure trending, organic growth analysis and understanding new business requirements

 

Qualifications

·        Technical knowledge needed in AIX, VMWare, Linux, BMC Performance Assurance, CPU

·        4-8 years experience in all phases of systems management, capacity planning and/or performance analysis.

·        Excellent analytical and research skills necessary to compile and analyze relevant data and present performance or capacity impact of business requirements.

·        Competent to work on the highest technical level on all phases of performance and capacity optimization activities.

·        Uses performance/capacity tools to gather and then analyze relevant data to determine capacity impact of business requirements or new technology.

·        Strong knowledge of system management tools.

·        Strong analytical and documentation skills.

 

Soft Skills

·        Strong documentation/written communication.

·        Good teamwork and communication skill, both verbal and in writing.

·        Ability to develop and lead strong partnerships with business customers, peer groups and vendors.
