Personal Banking Specialist A
Reporting to the Branch Manager or the Personal Banking Manager, The Personal Banking Specialist A is responsible for providing face-to-face sales and service financial advice to new ATB customers. This involves providing quality customer service and identifying financial needs for walk-in clients and sales referral clients. Other responsibilities include opening new accounts, gathering information for client loan applications, developing and building client and internal partner relationships and ensuring that credit decisions abide by ATB guidelines.
You will find success based on your ability to:
Develop and build customer relationships with new ATB customers and identify referral opportunities. In order to identify opportunities for growth in RFS and other lines of business, i.e.: referrals to ATBIS and business banking.
- Action sales referrals and counsel walk-in customers by actively listening to client financial needs, cross-selling ATB products and services for all non-secured personal products with limits of up to $25 k
- Share knowledge and provide service of ATB personal financial products offered including, deposits, MC, investments, Line of credits and lending products such as time plan loans
- Deal with attracting and maintaining current customers by providing services of other products or options that may be available
- Utilize sales and customer service skills
Develop and build internal partner relationships with other ATB departments, supporting branch operations to meet customer service requirements and resolve issues or concerns.
- Escalating issues by reviewing guidelines/policies or referring to other associates
- Ability to overriding and making exceptions for customer issues that is within target limitations.
- Ensuring that the branch has knowledge in all unsecured campaigns, updates received from other units and influencing involvement of supporting products that are introduced.
- Attend and lead team huddles in order to communicate the knowledge requirements on products outside the retail areas
Provide quality service and advice to clients/associates on loan applications, deposit products, investment and; identify referral opportunities, as appropriate. In ensuring credit decisions and recommendations are in accordance with sound credit granting principles and are in accordance with ATB policies and procedures
- Attend and actively participate in weekly/monthly branch huddles and team meetings.
- Provide assistance and peer coaching to other PBS’s/co-workers, as required.
- The PUR provides support services in an environment and provides advisory service for use by others (IS, RFS, IBAg) in order to contribute to ATB's bottom line.
- Take responsibility for personal development; schedule meetings with manager to discuss development plans.
Ensure branch assets are properly safeguarded and that premises and equipment are maintained and that collateral documents are properly controlled as per meeting the requirements of ATB privacy and control guidelines.
- Access to branch keys in the event the branch manager and supervisor is away on meeting,
- Assist in opening and closing the branch
- Assist in locking up the tellers stations and ensuring sign off of their blotters
- Ensuring all security documents are put away in the vault at the end of the day and all offices credenzas are locked and that all customer files and personal information is not left out on desk or wickets.
Job Requirements:
As the ideal candidate you possess:
- Minimum 2 years financial services experience with proven sales skills and knowledge of personal lending products and services.
- A creative team player who is flexible, cooperative and demonstrates a desire to work within a team
- A demonstrated ability to deal with change, make decisions and implement solutions from a variety of options within their guidelines
- Thorough knowledge and experience with personal financial products, including deposit, investment and lending products. As well, a strong understanding of credit policies and practices
- Proven ability to identify needs, refer and cross sell products
- Recognized business degree or diploma is desirable, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Retail credit training and completion of ATB Sales Training or an equivalent FI training program is desired.
