Personal Banking Specialist - B
The Personal Banking Specialist B is responsible for providing face-to-face sales and service to new and existing ATB customers. This involves providing quality customer service and identifying financial needs for walk-in clients and sales referral clients. Other responsibilities include opening new accounts, gathering information for client loan applications, providing advice on fixed rate deposit instruments as well as developing and building client relationships. The Personal Banking Specialist B is also responsible for attracting new clients to ATB by developing an internal referral network, and analyzing client files for existing relationships and opportunities. In addition develop and utilize internal partnerships to help build the business.
The Personal Banking Specialist B training program offers a ten month comprehensive program that combines classroom with in branch experience and prepares the trainee to take on the duties of this role. This training program includes role specific orientation, sales skills, and credit training, which will ensure the trainee’s ability to take on the full responsibilities of the job within 10 to 13 months.
You will find success based on your ability to:
- Action sales referrals by actively listening to client financial needs, cross-selling ATB products and services
- Analyze client files for sales opportunities to maximize business, by providing quality service and advice to clients on loan applications, deposit products such as guaranteed rate RSP’s, GIC’s and other fixed rate deposits; identify referral opportunities as appropriate
- Meet or exceed personal sales objectives; track and record all sales
- Develop and build customer relationships with new ATB customers, identified from marketing data, and identify referral opportunities
- Develop and build internal partner relationships with other ATB departments, supporting branch operations to meet customer service requirements and resolve issues or concerns
- Maintain a high quality of credit in the portfolio, ensuring credit decisions and recommendations are in accordance with sound credit granting principles
- Identify opportunities for growth in other lines of business, i.e.: referrals to wealth management and business banking
Job Requirements:
As the ideal candidate you possess:
- Strong sales and service orientation and a passion for working with customers
- A creative team player who is flexible, cooperative and demonstrates a desire to work within a team
- A demonstrated ability to work in an environment where performance goals are measured and tracked
- A demonstrated ability to deal with change, make decisions and suggest customer appropriate solutions
- Recognized business degree or diploma, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- 2-3 years financial services experience with proven sales skills; knowledge of personal lending products and services and a strong understanding of credit policies and practices is desirable
