Personal Portfolio Advisor recruitment
The Personal Portfolio Advisor is the lead advisor and primary point of contact for the firm’s high-net-worth private clients. This is not a call center position - PPA's are highly respected professional financial advisors entrusted to effectively lead quality clients in their decision making. This person is responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining strong and durable relationships with the clients introduced by our field sale force. We want financial professionals who engage clients at a very personal level, develop a genuine client/advisor relationship and act as the liaison for clients to our full suite of investment and wealth services. This position is ideal for a dedicated, detail-focused professional with investment management and financial planning as a career goal. While this is not primarily a sales function, strong sales skills are required to solicit and develop referrals, and to maximize both client value and the strong base and PPA bonus compensation plan.
Primary Responsibilities
- Build and expand customer relationships by identifying and offering customized investment solutions based on in-depth knowledge of products. Educate clients on an ongoing basis regarding investment models.
- Partner with other functions and roles within the organization to drive additional business. Specifically with Wealth Managers to transition relationship for new client relationships.
- Manage new relationships with clients from initial account set up to building confidence in our business and investment models.
- Partner with and build relationships with referral sources to develop new clients.
- Conduct annual reviews of client’s profiles to insure suitability of investments and dispense ongoing investment advice to clients as their situations and market conditions change.
- Act as quarterback directing all interaction with clients and maintaining all aspects of their account related needs.
Skills and Knowledge Requirements
- Series 65 or 66 license required
- Commitment to enhancing skills through continuing education and acquiring of additional financial industry designations.
- Experience and knowledge of a wide range of investment products
- Relationship management and sales skills with an ability to effectively influence others.
- Strong problem solving skills – be pro-active, demonstrate initiative and multi-task
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Proficient applications skills – Microsoft Office Suite and ability to adapt to proprietary software and databases
- College degree or equivalent financial services/banking industry experience required.
- Strong professional demeanor and integrity
