Pet Accessories – Territory Sales Rep

The company: This leading reptile and accessories wholesaler is a market leader, and due to category growth they are seeking a self-motivated salesperson to service and grow on an already well-established list of customers. Your territory will be from Sunshine Coast to North Queensland.
Your role: This role is a sales role, with your responsibilities being:
- Create and service regular base of customers
- Create strategies to achieve your sales targets
- Make the most out of every appointment you have - find out about your customer - their needs and potential opportunities
- Reordering and replenishing stock levels
- In store merchandising - representing the product well in store
- Commute to and attend appointments (and make it on time, every time! Although your run sheets are prepared for you, so this shouldn't be a major feat!)
- Represent yourself, your company and your customer at the highest level
- Be a guru and constantly strive to learn about the forever growing pet and reptile industry
You are out on the road driving in some scenic areas (think Noosa, Palm Cove and Cairns... marvellous!). You will be required to be on the road 3-4 days at a time, with accommodation and meals paid for whilst you are on the road.
Your customers: This role is 90% account management (existing business) and 10% new business. Your customers are mostly pet retailers and aquariums.
Is this you?:
- You have experience working in the pet industry or have owned weird and wonderful pets (snakes, lizards or turtles)
- You must have experience in a similar sales role (preferably working as a Territory Sales Rep or equivalent)
- You are a focused and efficient manager of your own time (although your run sheets are already prepared for you, you still need to be able to get from A to B in time to make your appointments)
- You MUST have oodles of drive and determination
- You would prefer to be client facing then office bound
- You must love working autonomously, but like to have the support of a fun-loving and passionate leader available to you when you need it
- You seize the opportunity to understand your customers and offer value to their business (and aren't afraid to ask the hard-to-ask questions)
- You have a customer centric approach to sales
- You listen as well as you speak
- You have had exposure to spreadsheets and reports
- You have a reliable car with a current and valid driving license
- You must also have your own laptop/Ipad for sending off daily orders
