Petroleum Engineer recruitment

The team is responsible for a portfolio of approximately 50 client relationships and approximately $2 billion in committed lines, for predominantly reserve-based independents EP companies located in the United States and Canada. The team is additionally responsible for derivative trading lines, especially commodity derivates and the associated ISDAs.

  Main Accountabilities  

*   Technical evaluation of reserve and production risk 

*   Recommendations regarding borrowing bases and exceptions to credit guidelines and policies 

*   Identifying and mitigating key technical risks *   Evaluation of the impact of hedging strategies and implications for lending value 

*   Insight and perspective on company operating activity and performance 

*   Insight and perspective on new trends, plays, technologies in the oil and gas industry 

*   Preparing engineering memo’s that clearly and succinctly capture the above  Capabilities – Required Qualification  Competencies Required:  

*   Proficient petroleum engineering skill set 

*   Must have good presentation, communication and technical writing skills   

*   Ability to work  with little or no supervision and within a team; sharing activities with other professionals, participating on peer reviews, reviewing tasks performed by others, giving and accepting feedback. 

Desired/ Plus:  

*   Industry contacts and reputation 

*   Widespread geographic experience in OG industry rather than a particular regional focus 

*   Active participation in industry / professional organizations  Technical skills Required: 

*   Must have a extensive knowledge of oil and gas economic evaluation   

*   Must have strong technical background in reservoir engineering including decline curve analysis, material balance, volumetrics, waterflood studies, pressure transient analysis, nodal analysis, etc. and a good understanding of geology. Petrophysical analysis skills and reservoir simulation knowledge helpful.   

*   Position requires ability to audit company and consultant projections in a short timeframe using the above skill set, but without re-engineering the work   

*   Some SEC reserve reporting experience preferred  

Prior Work experience 

Required:  

*   Must have 10 + yrs oil and gas industry experience, including 5+ yrs reservoir engineering experience. Some operations knowledge desired 

*   Preferable to have 15-20+ years total experience 

*   Preferable to have had energy banking experience  

Education Required:  

*   Minimum of BS in Engineering (preferably Petroleum). 

Desired/ Plus:  

*   MBA
