Job Description

Diabetes Care Technical Services provides scientific and engineering support to Indianapolis Parenteral Manufacturing to achieve its mission of supplying high quality parenteral medicines. A Pharmaceutical Scientist provides technical expertise and support to ensure the reliable manufacture of parenteral drug products that are compliant with global quality standards and detailed manufacturing instructions and procedures. This position will support the manufacture and control of insulin drug product vials.

KEY OBJECTIVES/DELIVERABLES:

·   Understand the scientific principles required for the manufacturing of parenteral drug products including process chemistry, equipment operation, aseptic processes and container/closure systems.

·   Assess process variability and capability by developing, monitoring, and appropriately reacting to established statistically based metrics in real time.

·   Understand the control strategy for the manufacturing process and ensure that accurate instructions exist for the manufacturing steps.

·   Conduct non-routine technical investigations and represent Technical Services during such investigations.

·   Prepare, review, and approve technical documents such as regulatory submissions, technical investigations, validation protocols reports, periodic reviews, and technical studies.

·   Participate on cross-functional teams in a positive fashion to deliver process improvements including capital expansions.

·   Support and/or lead technical projects (experimental, modeling and/or production data analysis) to improve process control, yield, quality and/or productivity.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

·   Education requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline with 3+ years gmp experience.

·   Strong manufacturing experience required!

·   Relevant industrial experience in Parenteral Manufacturing, Technical Services, Quality Control, or Product Development is desirable but not required.

·   Exp in deviations, change control, regulatory, project lead/management
