US based hedge fund with a strong presence in the US is looking to appoint entry level researchers and traders for their newly built London office.

Overview

Multi-billion dollar hedge fund with a very strong presence across the US is looking to expand their operations into Europe with the build out of a new London office. The firm focus across the FX and futures markets and are looking for systematic researchers and traders with strong mathematical and technical skills. The firm provide a very research driven environment with like minded PhD’s contributing to a very innovative and entrepreneurial working ethos.

Responsibilities

You will be working a very collegiate team environment and working on a daily basis with the Head of research and trading. Using your background in mathematical modelling and programming you will be responsible for researching, back testing and deploying fully automated systematic trading strategies. You can expect to design algorithms from scratch whilst also optimising existing strategies. Your role will involve contributing heavily to research and designing new strategies that will contribute to generate alpha and PNL.

Ideally you will be fresh PhD from a top ten institution or have a year’s commercial experience from a leading firm and be looking to be involved in the full life cycle of trading. It is quite rare to find an opportunity to work for a global firm who are building out a new office and work alongside a veteran from within the trading world on a daily basis.

Profile

• Recent PhD in maths, computer science, physics or econometrics from a top ten institution.

• Relevant internships are desirable but not essential

• Strong mathematics and programming skills.

• Looking to be involved in the full life cycle of trading and contribute to research

• Innovative and entrepreneurial nature.
