We are currently seeking a PhD Scientific Program Manager with Psychology background in behavioral decision-making to work onsite with the National Institutes of Health in Rockville, Maryland. The contractor shall: 1. Serve as a scientist liaison across the Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences (DCCPS) to manage two related scientific areas. 2. Coordinate a new division-wide working group on decision making in the clinical context; work with the Process of Care Research Branch (PCRB) and the Basic Biobehavioral and Psychological Sciences Branch (BBPSB) to incorporate decision-making into their strategic plans. 3. Work closely with members of the Behavioral Research Program (BRP) to assemble a team of internal DCCPS and external experts to identify the next steps for a research initiative in decision making in the clinical context; work with NIH and other governmental entities. 4. Read and summarize published literature on decision making in the clinical context. 5. Lead and work with staff to develop and modify methods and techniques to identify and resolve problems related to the development of the PCRB scientific agenda. 6. Interact and collaborate with other scientific staff, practitioners and public health administrators to translate community opinions and scientific publications into usable formats including new studies, scientific reviews and summary documents. 7. Analyze qualitative data and quantitative data e.g., surveys. 8. Prepare well-written, high-quality manuscripts, meeting minutes and reports. 9. Work with staff on the development of new assignments related to branch goals and objectives. REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have: 1. PhD in social psychology, cognitive psychology, behavioral science, organizational behavior, education or related field with at least 4 years postdoctoral experience in research in the healthcare setting; OR MD with at least four 4 years postdoctoral experience in behavioral research. 2. Extensive knowledge of BEHAVIORAL DECISION-MAKING from the perspective of cognitive DECISION SCIENCE with experience in applied settings, from the clinical, medical perspective with experience in social or cognitive decision science. 3. Experience in providing project management support in the area of the health behavior research. 4. Relevant scientific background, networking skills and leadership skills. 5. Experience in conducting quantitative statistical analysis. 6. Experience in developing experimental study designs. 7. Extensive knowledge of organizational and team processes that affect the decision making in clinical practice. Strong communications skills, both oral and written. 8.
