Phlebotomist Schedule : On Call Shift : Variable Hourly Rate : $14.51 + Depending on Experience Job Category : Lab Lab Support Location : Alaska-Kodiak Providence is calling an on call phlebotomist for the Laboratory at Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center in Kodiak, AK. In this position, you will: Perform bedside testing according to medical center, laboratory and national standards. Collect and label capillary or venipuncture specimens according to established procedure. Explain collection procedures clearly to patients and properly identify patients prior to collection. Handle requests for special services, i.e. Codes, STAT and Timed draws, prudently and efficiently. Receive specimens and transport to correct testing area for processing. Identify a need for Advanced Beneficiary Notice for Medicare patients and obtain proper ICD-9 codes and/or patient signature for billing. Qualifications for this position include: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a phlebotomy accredited program preferred. BLS preferred at the time of hire. One (1) year phlebotomy experience preferred.
