The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in providing laboratory services, to include specimen collection, specimen processing, giving patient instruction, and following all policies in accordance with established laboratory techniques and procedures in the Omaha, NE location.
- Follow established procedures for collection, and processing of patient samples. Collect blood samples from adults using venipuncture, following aseptic technique.
- Instruct participants on other specimen collections.
- Collect specimens of appropriate type and quantity necessary to meet the requirements for testing.
- Communicate with medical, clinical, and technical staff within the research facility concerning specimen inquiries, problems, and trials.
- Adhere to quality assurance plans and quality control procedures.
- Perform duties in compliance with laboratory safety and infection control practices. Wear protective garb as required. Dispose of bio-hazardous waste, according to company policies.
- Ensures that laboratory standards of timeliness and quality are met.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent AND graduation from a phlebotomy program or medical assistant program that includes phlebotomy training; Phlebotomy certification by nationally recognized agency preferred.
- Minimum of twelve months experience working full-time in a medical environment involving phlebotomy.
