Physical Commodity Trader recruitment

This position is accountable for daily trading activity while developing and supporting relationships with the customer base. Negotiations and trading with both sourcing and selling to customers are constant activities in this position, and require a broad understanding of the markets being traded as well as an ability to resolve problems as they arise. The candidate will be required to assist in arranging freight, negotiation with customers, and assistance in managing of cash flow and credit with accounting and finance departments.

Responsibilities:

• Trading and marketing of physical fuels, including ethanol and biodiesel, and Agricultural products including used cooking oils and feedstocks to maximize commercial revenue

• Creating business opportunities, writing contracts, executing contracts and any transactional activity.

• Physical marketing of products to counterparties predominantly within North American markets and globally

• Effective management skills and leadership experience

• Working closely with other team members to cross sell into a variety of complementary products including feedstock and risk management services

• Assistance on annual forecast and marketing strategy

• Accounts Receivable/Payable, month-end variances, freight variances, over/under-fills, and reconciliations

Skills / Attributes required: 

• Self-directed individual with excellent communication skills and high energy

• Strong ability to meet and exceed sales quotas

• A strong technical and financial background combined with exposure to the physical markets. Familiarity with RFS2 is a bonus.

• Strong sales background and a proven track record with contacts across the global fuels market

• Must have experience with Excel and CRM systems

• A bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in a trading capacity is desirable
