Physical Health Advisor (Physiotherapist) – West Yorkshire

Hays Healthcare are proud to be working with our client who are the UK’s largest provider of the “Government’s Work Programme Initiative”. This initiative aims to assist people to find suitable and lasting employment.
They require Physiotherapists to work as Physical Health Advisors to take a holistic approach and manage the clients physical and mental health to enable them to return to work.

Summary of Duties:

Whilst the following is not an exhaustive list, it covers the main duties that the post holder will be required to carry out:

· To conduct bio-psychosocial assessments for clients referred to the Health and Wellbeing service.
· To provide 1:1 face-to-face and telephone based interventions/appointments.
· To produce tailored health action plans for each client focusing on improving their health and moving them closer to work.
· Offer advice and guidance to clients with regard to their health condition.
· Provide return to work guidance and offer in work support where required.
· Conduct lifestyle screening assessments via face-to-face or telephone
· Be responsible for ensuring clients are able to access appropriate self help material.
· Refer clients to appropriate specialist services, agencies and organisations.

In addition to the above, the post holder will also be required to:

· Work with other Health Advisors and Senior Health Advisors to build relationships with external organisations such as the NHS
· Work collaboratively with your Senior Physical Health Advisor.
· Be involved in the planning and set-up of your workshops and group activities.

Person Specification:

Again, whilst not exhaustive, the following is a breakdown of the competencies, skills and qualifications potential applicants should consider prior to application:

· Qualified Physiotherapist, registered with the HCPC
· Experience of working in a MSK setting, pain management, mental health, occupational health, vocational rehabilitation or condition management.
· Excellent planning, organisation and communication skills.
· Experience in the use of or a good level of understanding of CBT in the context of behaviour change
· Experience of delivering health or wellbeing related workshops or training sessions.
