Job Description
- Facilitates the hospital process for physicians and mid-level practitioners. Completes all applications when necessary. Communicates with employees, physicians, mid-level practitioners, hospitals, and outside agencies to ensure that the appropriate information is gathered and processed.
- Primary responsibility is to work the hospital staff, making it possible for a provider to begin working on his/her contracted start date. Obtains and sends applicable licensing and application fees.
- Collection of carrier required documents from the provider.
- Facilitates the hospital re-credentialing process for physicians and mid-level practitioners.
- Maintains credentialing data on departmental spreadsheets and databases.
- Resolves credentialing issues by communicating with other department personnel.
- Works with Provider Enrollment to help ensure timely submission of carrier applications.
- Performs and assists with other department duties including but not limited to: assisting other team members with their credentialing responsibilities, resolving outstanding documentation requests, closing internal files as appropriate and verifying licensing, schooling and other pre-employment requirements for newly hired and mid-level practitioners.
Minimum Requirements
- Strong computer skills with an emphasis in Microsoft Office
- Strong data entry skills must be able to type 40wpm
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to maintain patience and composure in difficult situations.
- Ability to identify, research, and solve problems and discrepancies.
- Strong work ethic, ability to work in a team environment, and driven to meet goals.
- Ability to perform in a fast paced environment. Must be able to multi-task and be detail oriented
- Ability to prioritize assigned duties in an efficient amount of time and in an organized manner.
- Ability to work overtime and put forth extra effort when needed.
