The Laser Spine Institute Physician Liaison is responsible for strategically planning and implementing outreach efforts focusing on physicians, community groups, and other potential referral sources through the specific Ambulatory Surgery Center targeted market (Tampa, Philadelphia, Oklahoma City or Scottsdale). This position primarily focuses on developing professional referral relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers in the service area, with the goal of driving and maximizing referral and redirection opportunities for endoscopic spine surgery at Laser Spine Institute. The Physician Liaison is responsible for creating a target list of physicians and provides input in the development and implementation of marketing plans for physicians and referral sources. The position is to report on the activity level and outcomes of activities on a regular basis, focusing on increases in volume (number of Health Care Provider  visits and referral to surgery volume) and/or addressing issues.

The position emphasizes sales objectives based on market assessments and physician needs, the maintenance of good account relationships and the development and implementation of innovative selling ideas and methodologies.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct office visits and effectively manage territory with the purpose and goal of:
• Educating referring and new offices on Laser Spine Institute and services offered, surgical approach and enterprise enhancements, new studies, and advances – essential to the target market
• Increasing referral percentages, volume and word of mouth
• Increasing referral percentages and volume from currently non-referring offices
• Maintaining image in the community as cutting-edge experts
• Introduce, communicate, brand and deliver Laser Spine Institute level of service to the offices
• Introduce, communicate, brand and deliver Laser Spine Institute level of service to respective communities on a timely basis.
• Implement new products, services and protocols to referring offices
• Communicate opportunities, market trends and issues to appropriate management and staff in a timely manner and on a regular basis
• Coordinate meetings between key physicians and surgeons to improve communication and relationships in order to increase referrals
2. Call on targeted offices at the required reach, frequency and calls based on daily goals
3. Conduct “lunch and learns” in appropriate offices to educate staff and physicians on services and protocols
4. Conduct quarterly educational dinner programs for referring offices
5. Assist Director, Physician Relations with sales related projects
6. Enter detailed notes for each field contact made and upload daily
7. Run timely reports to accurately track referring office activity.
8. Maintain, update and refine our sales database for all offices, referring physicians, staff and office contacts.
9. Install and assist in troubleshooting PACS and future referring office network offerings.
10. Coordinate resolution of customer service issues between referring offices and
Laser Spine Institute.
11. Delivery of referral pad, prep kits, insurance updates, educational materials and information/reports and other support materials to referring offices as needed/requested.
12. Attend/Display at appropriate market trade shows and conferences
• Also attend Patient focused seminars produced by LSI sales and marketing that are held in respective regions
13. Collaboratively develop educational road show and supportive information for presentations to referring offices.
14. Assist in annual community events sponsored by Laser Spine Institute (May require weekend work)
15. Assist in special events, luncheons, and other activities conducted by the marketing department, including, but not limited to: support materials, set-up/tear-down, rental arrangements, purchasing needed materials, etc.
16. Other duties as necessary to achieve goals

Education:

Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Business or related field of study

Experience Skills:

1. 5 years experience in pharmaceutical or medical device sales with knowledge of targeted medical practices as a whole preferred.
2. Sales/marketing specific background and education with focus on consultative selling.
3. Must be a high caliber professional who is an effective communicator, extremely detail oriented with the dedication to follow-through.
4. Knowledge of emerging medical trends and technologies is required.
5. Flexibility as it relates to schedule, responsibilities and priorities
6. The ability to interact with, support, and influence in a positive manner the behavior and activities of referring physicians, superiors, staff and co-workers.
7. Must be an exceptional listener, with proven problem solving skills to diversified issues and situations
8. Results driven with strong organizational skills.
9. Experienced public speaking and presentation skills.
10. The ability to work both independently and in a group setting with high integrity, reasoned and thoughtful judgment, strong sense of urgency and impeccable analytical and intuitive skills.
11. Knowledge of preparing and interpreting spreadsheets and reports, and an expert at data analysis.
12. Must demonstrate proficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point and Salesforce Information System
13. Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
