- POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: The Physician Practice Applications Analyst serves as a key clinical IT resource for applications implementation and support of a broad set of clinical Physician applications. Primary responsibilities include the facilitation of the core clinical Physician systems on clinical IT activities, second level support as a broad clinical subject matter expert to their assigned applications, to resolve incidents or fulfill requests received from the division Help Desk or organization service resources. The analyst position works with users and application solutions, assessing customer needs, clarifying and documenting requirements, participating in design efforts, testing new or modified solutions, training users, coordinating and supporting the adoption of new or changed solutions. The Physician Practice Applications Analyst evaluates, makes recommendation and assists in the redesign of clinical workflows. This includes working within the detailed project plan and project budget. The analyst facilitates and manages maintenance of application specific dictionaries / tables and provides input and development of division policies and procedures, and best practices for use within the organization.
1. Demonstrates extensive knowledge and understanding of the supported systems and interfaces utilized by the LGH employed practices and how these integrate with their workflow. Responds to and resolves inquiries and requests for assistance from physicians and office staff and provides superior customer support.
2. Analyzes and provides hands-on support for issues and workflow changes. Prioritizes and escalates problems, including technical resources and/or vendor support as needed. Stays engaged until issues are resolved and keeps the practice well informed of status.
3. Responsible for creating/maintaining test plans for new and/or modified solutions. Works collaboratively with vendors to fully test. Coordinates with additional resources to assist in the testing process if necessary. Communicates testing status to the Project Manager/team and evaluates testing results, taking corrective action as necessary.
4. Maintains up to date knowledge of Meaningful Use requirements and understands how objectives are documented and reported on for the LGH employed practices.
5. Coordinates interface set up and troubleshoots issues with the Hub and various EMRs. Fully tests and/or coordinates resources to assist with testing. Maintains quarterly compendiums.
6. Assists in on-boarding new LGH employed practices.
7. Communicates work and project status to team members and management by keeping project tasks up-to-date in PET. Completes documentation in change management, change request and Footprints.
8. Ability to develop materials for training, software/hardware uses, user procedures, and presents these both verbally and in writing.
9. Transfers knowledge to backup analysts by training and developing documentation of procedures, tasks and schedule.
10. Participates in meetings, committees and continuing education to improve individual, departmental and organizational performance.
