INVISTA is seeking a Piping Engineer to join our corporate Engineering capability located at our office in North Houston. INVISTA Engineering provides a global engineering consultancy service to INVISTA manufacturing sites supporting operations and capital projects. The successful engineer will collaborate across multiple departments and staff, have strong verbal and written communication skills, work effectively with site operations teams and project execution teams, and apply economic thinking skills to assigned projects and work. The successful engineer will also be goal and results oriented with an ability to organize, plan, and prioritize based on highest value work. Responsibilities include: Specification and Stewardship of Piping Valves and Fittings (PVF) systems for INVISTA Develop and implement a strategy for updating, improving and maintaining INVISTA PVF engineering guidelines and technical documents. Establish and implement a strategy for maintenance and upgrade of the site PVF specifications. Work with operations reliability resources to provide PVF support to the sites and ensure guidelines incorporate current industry best practices. Develop appropriate systems for vendor qualification and quality control of manufacturers and fabricators to ensure adherence to INVISTA guidelines. Support the interpretation of industry standards and INVISTA specifications for operating sites and capital projects. Perform damage assessments on piping systems and components, and make recommendations for fitness for service. Provide technical oversight of specification development, piping design and shop or construction testing procedures on assigned capital projects. Provide technical expertise to specify, purchase and install PVF systems to meet long term piping system reliability objectives, Environmental, Health and Safety Standards and ensure lowest life cycle cost in order to fulfill site and capital project needs. Develop and implement piping flexibility specifications and potentially perform flexibility analysis and evaluate reactant loads at the pipe/equipment interface. Provide engineering oversight of work performed by contract resources to support evaluation of piping issues at operating sites and capital projects. Experience and Skills Required: Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering 4+ yrs of experience in the specification, design, fabrication, damage assessment to API 579 and remediation of piping systems. Experience with applicable industry standards including ANSI, ASME, API, PIP and non-US standards for piping design, inspection and testing. 4+yrs of plant or piping and valve experience.
