My client, a leading Oil Gas service company are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis ASAP. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join a well-established business and be part of a busy finance team.
The main responsibilities of the role is the maintenance of the purchase ledger including, raising PO numbers, matching paperwork, dealing with any queries, reconciling supplier statements and preparing supplier payment runs. You will also be responsible for the posting of cash payments to SAGE and the daily bank reconciliation's. As accounts assistant you will also assist the Accounts manager with any statutory audit requests and assist with the quarterly VAT returns. There may also be some ad-hoc admin duties such as providing support and cover for reception as and when required.
To be successful you must have a good general understanding of business administration and accounting procedures and requirements to assist in the growth of a successful company. Having worked in a finance environment previously you will have an understanding of computer systems and IT packages. The ability to deal with multi-currencies would be an advantage as would working knowledge of SAGE.
You will enjoy working as part of a team and demonstrate an understanding of the importance of working effectively with others. The ability to communicate with staff at all levels is essential and you must a drive to deliver a high level of customer service. As a motivated and pro-active individual you will take pride in your work and ensure that you prioritise your workload to meet the given deadlines.
Must have your own transport.
