Plan Specialist I (Pension) Job ID: 2012-16378 # of Positions: 1 Internal Title: Plan Specialist I (Pension) Position Type: Regular Full Time Category: Human Resources Location: US-IL-Warrenville Travel: None Overview: Primary Duties Responsibilities: * Calculate pension benefits for active and retired employees, including estimates, actual retirements and deferred vested benefits; * Perform PeopleSoft Pension Administration module configuration; * Respond to issue escalation calls from Service Advisors as well as inquiries from retirees, surviving spouses and alternate payees relating to the determination of eligibility, benefit amounts and benefit options; * Review, approve and perform calculations for qualified domestic relations orders; * Perform review and processing of service challenges and research issues; * Administer insurance supplemental survivor benefits (SSB) and survivor benefit objective (SBO) programs resulting in eligibility determination and appropriate tracking; * Work closely with Plan Coordinators to resolve issues regarding plan eligibility, claims, etc. * Implement and administer required changes to benefits and procedures as a result of legal updates or requirements; * Approve all transactions entered into the Benefit Payment Passport System; * Work with outside actuaries to support the annual valuation process for the Company defined benefit plans, including providing census data, reconciling data and documenting the process; * Other duties and projects as required Position Purpose and Requirements: Provide support in the administration of employee benefit plans, including, but not limited to plans covering group life, accident and health insurance, retirement and pension plans, income continuation and other benefit programs. Administers and communicates the company s benefit programs in regard to plan options, policy features, enrollment and other requirements. Ensures company compliance with federal and state laws. Basic Requirements: * Bachelor s degree OR At least 4 years of Pension Plan administration experience; * At least 2 years of Pension Plan administration experience * At least 1 year experience using PeopleSoft 8.9 or higher Additional Requirements: Desired Skills: * Ability to work in a Team environment * Ability to prioritize, work efficiently, complete tasks within deadlines, and transition from task to task and maintain focus * Detail orientation/Attention to detail * Ability to troubleshoot * The ability to work independently * Microsoft office experience * High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Access greatly desired * Working Knowledge of the Following: * ERISA and related amendment * Sarbanes Oxley * HIPPA * Strong written and oral communication skills * Experience working with multiple, complex benefit plans, including unions * CEBS or other related professional certification desired Competencies: * Positive Attitude * Ethics and Navistar's Values * Action Oriented * Composure * Organizing * Priority Setting * Problem Solving Visit us at www.Navistar.com to discover more about our organization.
