POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sales and Product Planner is at the heart of ShopNBC’s success. Using ShopNBC’s methodology and planning best practices to manage inventory and maximize sales. You will be a part of a team that is all about action, learning, executing, hard work, reading and reacting in real-time to what products our customers are responding to. It is a fast-paced environment where every decision contributes to driving the business forward.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Understand and maximize the long and short-term sales/business for which he/she plans. Manage items and/or opportunities to meet or exceed the needs of external customers.
Prepare show runs in accordance with Planning guidelines/standards and deadlines.
Maintain item integrity by actioning items according to the planning item decision tree and planning deadlines.
Work with others to plan and improve the business and maximize sales opportunities.
Accountable for decisions, actions, and results of self.
Plan and improve business for product categories for which he/she is responsible to maximize long-term and short-term sales/business. Use all Planning philosophies to manage inventory and maximize sales.
Works with Director and Buying team to plan, manage and execute ongoing merchandise, item inventory strategies to reach department division financial objectives.
Key responsibilities include management of:
§ Item Level Sales and Margin Analysis
§ Inventory Coding Management Analysis
§ Airtime Item management optimization on Gross Margin Net Sales maximization through pre-show strategy development
§ Show Plan Item level performance review via post show analysis

Education:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.), or equivalent experience
Experience:
§ 1-3 years planning experience in a retail setting
§ Strong analytical and technical skills

§ Effective communication, negotiation, organization and interpersonal skills
Physical Activity:
Finger Dexterity: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm, as in handling.
Repetitive Motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers.
Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work. Those activities, which demand detailed or important instructions spoken to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly.
Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds with no less than a 40-db loss. Ability to receive oral communication and make fine discriminations in sound.
Visual Demands:
Operators: This is a minimum standard for those whose job requires work done at close visual range. (i.e. preparing and analyzing data and figures, clerical and administrative functions, accounting, computer terminal use, extensive reading, visual inspection, operation of machines, using measurement devices, assembly or fabrication of parts.
Physical Requirements:
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
