Planner/Scheduler - Maintenance (MAP)

Kennecott Utah Copper (KUC, LLC), a world-class mining and mineral processing company, in Salt Lake City, Utah is searching for a Planner/Scheduler - Maintenance (MAP Project). The Planner/Scheduler - Maintenance is a key Asset Management role at MAP and is critical to the Operational Readiness effort for this new facility. Pre-commissioning focus will be to collaboratively work with a group of planner/schedulers, data specialists, reliability engineers, supervisors, RTP personnel and SAP experts to develop the MAP asset management systems in accordance with KUC and Rio Tinto guidelines. Major areas of responsibility will include detailed review of engineering design and layout from a mechanical/operational standpoint, development of the structure and direct data load into the CMMS. Post-commissioning focus will be to plan and schedule routine and major shutdown maintenance activities for the MAP facility. Major areas of responsibility will include coordination of work packages, required parts, work procedures, time and manpower estimates as well as resource allocation for work and arrangement of special tools or contractors as needed to execute the work. Duties Include: Promote a zero harm safety culture by full compliance with all applicable safety and hygiene standards, facilitate safety meetings, and conduct quality safety interactions Plan jobs so they can be executed as safely as possible Generate job procedures for all maintenance work and maintain them in an SAP Task List Create and maintain parts list (BOMs) for all equipment Order all parts needed to execute maintenance work in area of responsibility and verify that the parts are correct and onsite Accurately estimate time required to complete maintenance work along with manpower requirements Create and maintain maintenance strategies/tactics in SAP Optimize Preventative Maintenance program and coordinate with Predictive Maintenance team Conduct regular field audits to observe the execution and discuss the quality of the plans with Craftsmen Supervisors Create Notifications in SAP and convert into Work Orders Create, maintain improve the quality of the Zero Based Budgets within the business solution Utilize the Component Tracking module in SAP to track history on critical components Maintain coding in SAP to ensure an accurate equipment history is kept in the CMMS system Manage the backlog in your area Work closely with the Reliability department when creating or modifying tactics Minimum Qualifications: B.S. degree in Engineering or related field is preferred Must have a three plus years maintenance experience in mineral processing facilities with pressure oxidation, solvent extraction or crystallization circuits Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional (CMRP) is desired Previous experience as a maintenance planner or scheduler is desired Experience in heavy industrial construction environments is desired Must have proven ability to read, follow and comprehend engineering drawings and documents for all major engineering disciplines Root Cause Analysis, Defect Elimination or Six Sigma certifications are desirable Use of SAP and Planning/Scheduling principals Rio Tinto is a global mining and metals group, dedicated to the smartest discovery, extraction and processing of the earth's natural resources.
