Business Engagement

• Maintain a detailed awareness of the strategic business objectives and direction across the WM AU organisation, identifying shortcomings in how current systems support these objectives and ideas on how current or emerging technologies could be better leveraged.

• Work with WM AU executive members and senior business stakeholders to ensure the overall objectives and priorities of the current program of work are consistent with the strategic business objectives and direction of the business.

• Proactively project forward and co-ordinate the future program of work, ensuring anticipated projects are suitably scoped, verified and estimated.
 

Financial

• Generate accurate and timely reports on the current approved budget, actuals incurred to date, all accrued and forecasted expenses, and available resource capacity, highlighting anomalies and taking the actions necessary to prevent budget variations.

• Monitor risks associated with the overall program of work, proactively highlighting and addressing issues to prevent or at least minimize the impact associated with such risks.
 

Job specific

• Provide strategic direction to projects to ensure the most optimal solutions, consistent with overall strategic business objectives, are being identified and implemented in a manner consistent across the program of work.

• Identify contention or gaps between project deliverables and take the action necessary to address them in a timely and effective manner.

• Ensure Functional Requirements Specifications (FRSs) are being developed to an appropriate standard and using conventions that are consistent across projects, and ensure a clear, unambiguous understanding to the Business Sponsor and stakeholders on what is to be deliverable.

• Manage and develop team members to ensure a high level of performance and motivation.

• Provide the relevant strategic input into the development and maintenance of the business function and application architecture (both current and future state) and ensure the associated documentation is being accurately maintain in a timely manner and to an effective useable standard.

• Co-ordinate with the regional Technology Council and CTO units to share local architectural planning and leverage their input while also ensuring the appropriate level of consistency.

Specific Requirements

• Extensive experience and knowledge in the development and implementation of business and technology architectures as part of an overall program of work.

• Able to engage with executive level and other senior managers to be part of their business and project planning process, persuading and influencing them effectively in the scoping and prioritisation of projects.

• Understanding of the regulated environment and how it impacts the role.

• Extensive experience and knowledge in the development and implementation of business and technology architectures.

• Has the resilience to operate successfully in a demanding environment.
