Position Summary: The Planning Data Governance and Process Manager (DGP Mgr) owns and drives Planning initiatives focused on master data management data governance. This role will manage development of activities required to maintain data and process governance structure across Planning while providing emphasis on business process analysis/modification and integrating data management/operational processes within business process. A key output of work is how data is created, managed used across planning functions to include business partners in finance, logistics, sales and other parts of the organization. This is a hands-on role and will be responsible for project management as well as daily, weekly and monthly management, reporting and on-going support of Planning metrics including the gathering, qualifying, consolidating reporting of related information. Results are provided to the business with accompanying analysis to identify trends, root cause and recommended corrective actions for events that affect service to the customer or Clorox costs. The DGP Manager is responsible for completion and publication of the monthly Forecast to Stock scorecard, including providing summary analysis of results for Planning and Business partners. Additionally this role supports and provides ad hoc data collection and analysis for Planning problem and issue resolution, including Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Planning COE and Planning Services.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and own Data Governance process for Planning owned data, including definition, communication to gain approval and implementation. Builds on processes defined and recommended by iPlan team. Leads projects to improve data quality, data management, data policies, business process management, and risk management surrounding the handling of data in an organization. Develop, deploy and track key metrics to ensure data consistency and integrity across major Planning process and initiatives. Lead cross functional teams within Planning to simplify, standardize, and automate operational and data management processes. Change agent for proper data and process management. Recommends and implements new methodologies, frameworks, and paradigms to support on-going data model governance. Identifies opportunities to enhance operational effectiveness/efficiencies to support overall Planning initiatives
Daily management and support of the Clorox Planning measurements program. Collect data from multiple sources, consolidate and analyze to identify root cause impacts to service, trend analysis, performance to meet standard, corporate metrics. Publish results and summary analysis in form suitable for management review, understanding and if required, action.
Perform ad hoc analysis to identify opportunities to reduce Planning related / controlled costs and/or improve service to customers. Specifically, DGP will work with COE, Demand, Supply and Planning Services teams to provide analysis including (but not limited to) balancing the cost / benefit of inventory, customer fill rates, change-overs, run minimums, stocking locations, transfers and other Planning controlled variables. This work requires working with Planning, Finance, Logistics, Customer Service, Manufacturing and other groups to exploit cost opportunities across Clorox customer supply chains. Support provided through analysis, development, approval and implementation of recommendations. Provides follow-up data and measurements to ensure successful implementation.
Operate as the SME of all Planning related master and transaction data, responsible for the on-going support of tools automated queries necessary to gather information across diverse network of data sources. This work includes, but is not limited to evaluating, recommending and supporting decisions to implement technical improvements such as interface development, upgrades to existing programs or tools, working to incorporate new data sets into existing reports.
Other Scope Factors: Provides information, analysis and recommendations to Planning managers with an objective of improving customer service and reducing planning related costs. Considers all Clorox businesses and customers in analysis. Provides data and analysis to support Planning representatives on major corporate initiatives (ex – Supply Network redesign, New Item SetUp). Scope of responsibility includes all Clorox US and Export businesses.
Years and Type of Experience
- Minimum of 5 years working in operations supply chain environment such as supply planning, demand planning, manufacturing, customer service and/or logistics
- 5+ years of experience in managing project teams through all phases of the project lifecycle from scoping and planning, requirements gathering, design, development, testing and go live.
- Strong implementation experience and deep knowledge in any one of the following three areas: 1. Master Data Management 2. Data Governance 3. Data Quality

- Excellent oral written communication skills, including ability to work at low levels of detail, and roll results and analysis up to higher levels suitable for targeted management level review
Experience and comfort in leading meetings group discussions with internal and external partnersEducation Level/DegreeBA/BS degree required, preferably in a technical field
