Planning Engineer - Dorset

A long established precision engineering company based in Poole is looking to recruit a Planning Engineer on a permanent basis. Please note that experience in the aerospace sector is ideal for this role.

Purpose of Role:
To determine and plan the optimum manufacturing process.
To produce quality manufacturing plans/layouts utilising preventative measures which produce products conforming to customer specifications within the estimated cost.

Responsibilities:
Accountable to manage manufacture by documented instruction to ensure satisfactory conformance to customer requirements within predetermined budget constraints
To ensure preventative methods are utilised and applied in an appropriate manner as to ensure RIGHT FIRST TIME manufacture.
To manage, maintain report departmental [KPI] metrics
Authorised signatories for material purchase orders
Provide technical interface for sub tier and OEM[s].

Specific Duties:
To ensure planning is completed to production, delivery/sales requirement utilising the current priority planning schedule
To provide Planning metrics RFT TO TIME CONSRAINT by the first day of each month
To raise expedite production permits [as applicable]
To compile, submit expedite customer sealed/approved planning.
To assist in third party audits
To manage customer specifications

Measures of Performance:
Product delivered defect free to the Inspection Department
NRFT and KPI measures as detailed in the Business Strategy.
The effective implementation of continuous improvement initiatives where ownership is assigned.

Skills and experience required:
Candidates should have previous experience as a Planning Engineer in t he aerospace sector and a proven ability to improve manufacturing processes. It is likely that the successful candidate will hold an HND or BSc in an Engineering-related subject.
