Engineer - S8G Overhaul Execution
Perform engineering evaluations and analyses and make engineering decisions for all aspects of assigned tasks. Cognizant areas may include planning, designing, modeling, analyzing, documenting, and testing of nuclear, mechanical, structural or electrical components, systems and equipment and facilities.
The Planning/Execution Engineer is responsible to assist in developing the plan for a major overhaul of a nuclear reactor plant. The plant is a prototype for a submarine design, so presents a number of unique challenges in design and maintenance. The Engineer-S8G Overhaul Execution will also supervise projects during performance of the overhaul work, and oversee the work of internal and subcontracted workers. The reactor plant exists to train operators for U.S. Navy nuclear submarines and aircraft carriers, so is a vital asset to the nation's security. Responsibilities include:
- Participation in a multi-disciplinary team under the supervision of a lead engineer.
- Review of plant maintenance requirements and indentification of maintenance activities to be performed.
- Providing field engineering support for electrical and/or mechanical systems and components in the plant.
- Preparation of technical work instructions for completion of complex work procedures for new equipment installations, modifications, and repair.
- Interaction with a plant operating staff, design engineers, planning staff, and maintenance workers.Collateral duties may be assigned consistent with experience, business needs, and the individual's desires.

Job Requirements:
- BS degree in a core engineering discipline (electrical, mechanical, civil, systems (non-it), marine) from an accedited college or university.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in related work (such as nuclear, power plant, marine propulsion, heavy industry)
