FORTUNE 500 FOOD/CONSUMER MFG COMPANY IS SEEKING A PLANT CONTROLLER TO JOIN THEIR DYNAMIC COMPANY IN ONE OF THEIR STATE OF THE ART MFG PLANTS LOCATED IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST.
Responsibilities
Manage plant accounting staff and support local management team in financial matters. Responsible for efficient daily management of Accounting department, insuring maximum utilization of personnel and equipment.
Perform plant cost accounting responsibilities including month end close, variance analysis, and report preparation for use by Corporate HQ and local plant management
Assists plant management and HQ in the preparation, review and analysis of plant level budgets and forecasts. Responsible for generation of plant level SAP standard cost master data.
Responsible for the liasion and administration of plant internal controls in conjunction with Plant management including cycle and physical counts of raw material, fixed asset accuracy, spare parts, etc. Lead external auditors regarding matters of plant operations and support local tax audits.
Review and approve monthly reconciliations for submission to corporate consolidation.
Work with the engineering team, oversee the transition of capital expenditures work in process to tagged fixed assets
Lead the analytical review of financial support required by Pillar teams in a Continuous Improvement environment.
Integral part of Operations Management Team. Career development and training of staff. Achievement of performance objectives.
Support Operations Management and HQ in understanding causes/drivers of variances and trends. Identify risks/opportunities.
Interaction with Operations Management Team and Corporate Finance on development of cost center budgets, loss and efficiency targets, labor costs, standard cost development by SKU.
Adherence to GAAP, SOX, Groupe directives.
Accurate Financial statements
Requirements:
Education 4 Years Sup Studies -- Bachelor of Science (BS) - prefer a masters Degree
Work Exp - 7-10 years experience in a related role in consumer mfg - must be in a plant currently
5 years cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, CPA or MBA preferred
Solid interpersonal, analytical and technical skills
Ability to communicate complex accounting information verbally and in writing.
Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, prioritize, adaptability, flexibility
SAP experience
Excellent Excel, Word skills
