Plant Engineer Job in Culpeper, Virginia US

This position is a trade level in mechanical maintenance and reports to commercial operations.  The plant engineer will perform preventive maintenance inspections, mechanical repairs, installations, and operate the plant and equipment.  Duties include plant operation, preventative and routine maintenance of existing equipment, quality assurance documentation, and supervision and training of subordinates.  Skillful knowledge of hand tools is required.

Required Skills Experience

 • Manual dexterity and the capacity to operate facility mechanical plant, building management system, and the ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings and data.  May be required to work rotating shifts and participates in departmental on-call system when necessary.
• Ability and capacity to repair, replace, or install plant equipment and respond to facility alarms, system failures, and internal and external customer requests and complaints.
• Completes work orders as directed and conducts follow up quality assurance reviews and reports as required including maintaining configuration management and quality assurance documentation.
• Performs preventative maintenance inspections and repairs for plant systems and equipment including monitoring equipment.
• Demonstration of good communications skills, both oral and written, and ability to supervise subordinate building operators, maintenance personnel, and subcontractors.
• Participates in company sponsored training programs and initiatives.
• Proficient at chiller plant (reciprocating and screw), pumps, and air handling units operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Substantial walking, standing, sitting, and unhampered mobility, in order to react quickly in an emergency situation. Applicants must possess the physical capabilities and stamina to perform above-mentioned tasks.
• Train Building Operators as required.
• Execute assigned duties in a safe and professional manner without interruptions to the client or service agreements.
• Working, coordinating, and planning electrical maintenance functions
