The
Plant Manager will provide strong leadership for and empowerment of supervisory staff to instill an atmosphere that encourages thoughtful planning, efective communications, and appropriate execution. This position maintains close oversight and provides direction to the plant
in the areas of production, processing, packaging, warehousing, shipping, safety, and environmental.
- Leadership:
- The Plant Manager will provide positive leadership to inspire all of the team members to consistently deliver high quality products, while working in a clean, safe, and cost effective manner.
- The Plant Manager sets the pace and agenda each day and makes the facility a great place to work. Solves problems, delegates, and ultimately accepts responsibility for positive and negative outcomes.
- The Plant Manger continually motivates others to learn and grow by seeking help, knowledge, and self-awareness with the commitment to improve personal performance in ways that can enhance the success of the facility.
- As a leader and developer of others the Plant Manager creates an environment where every team member is challenged to grow and develop.
- Act as the liaison between production, engineering, marketing, and administration. The Plant Manager will create and maintain quality relationships in order to exceed its internal and external customer’s expectations.
- This individual will be adept at establishing strong working relationships with employees and customers while facilitating changes to strengthen safety, production quality, production processes, customer service and profitability.
- This individual will also coordinate training, resolve labor and production issues, and ensure complaints are resolved.
- Responsible for maintaining staffing levels, employee performance evaluations, discipline, and commendation.
- Responsible for the overall succession planning and development of plant management staff.
- Operations:
- Direct the overall activities of the manufacturing facilities of the plant to ensure customer orders are received, scheduled, produced, and shipped at the lowest possible cost to meet the customer’s requirements while maintaining corporate established quality standards.
- Ensure that appropriate standard operating procedures (SOPs) are developed and maintained for all aspects of the business.
- Implement plant safety programs and ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices (GMPs).
- Develop time-table for cost-effective down time and optimize effective allocation of personnel, production, and maintenance.
- Responsible for the implementation of Food Security Policies/Programs to mitigate potential food security risks and to ensure food security preventive measures are being implemented regarding the manufacturing, handling, and storage of all food ingredients as well as finished goods.
- Analyze plant operations to ensure that the facility maintains a leadership position in the industry and that it takes advantage of new processes and technologies that become available.
- Financial:
- Develop annual production expense budget in accordance with forecasted sales volumes and planned inventory levels.
- Responsible for expense control, including shrink, labor, and overhead costs utilizing Continuous Improvement techniques.
- Provide reliable and accurate information to accounting to ensure that end of month closing schedules are met.
- Recommend and assist in the development and management of plant capital budget.
- Administration:
- Responsibility for all corporate, customer, and government audits to ensure compliance.
- Responsible for implementation of processes to ensure environmental compliance.
REQUIREMENTS:

· A four year degree is required (preferred emphasis in engineering or science) along with seven to ten years of manufacturing experience.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
· This position is classified as full time salaried.
· This position reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
