Description

The Quality Manager, under general supervision, is responsible for ensuring the overall integrity of the Winona Plant quality system is maintained. This includes:

1) Administering the TRW Product Assurance Program. Meeting with responsible personnel to direct and guide them in implementing the Product Assurance Program.  Coordinating interplant quality activities relating to TRW. Originating and implementing inspection procedures and plans.  Recommending and originating necessary requests for equipment.

2) Directing customer liaison manager on quality matters involving Winona products. Receiving direct communications relating to quality problems from customer, purchasing, engineering, quality, and reliability personnel.

3) Reviewing and initiating Defective Material Notices and Nonconformance Reports. Implementing and assuring proper corrective action. Implementing and assuring proper material dispositions.  Initiating material review board actions if necessary. Requesting Design and Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Engineering assistance if necessary. 4) Assuring incoming, in-process and outgoing quality. Reviewing audit results. Dispositioning Nonconformance Reports and Quality Warnings. Initiating required layouts. Administering necessary follow up on historical problems. Notifying management of critical problem areas.

5) Supervising quality personnel. Participating in the selection process for all inspection personnel. Interviewing and hiring quality engineering salaried personnel. Recommending and implementing disciplinary actions when needed.

6) Interacting with customers, suppliers and other non-company personnel. Interfacing with Winona suppliers on quality problems. Surveying appropriate potential suppliers for quality capability. Acting as host for Winona customer and auditor visitations.

Required Skills

A bachelor’s degree with three years minimum quality experience in quality assurance is required. 

An ASQC (American Society for Quality Control) certification as a Quality Engineer desired.
