Position Summary
The middle line operator is responsible for coordinating the flow of raw materials, maintaining the performance of the production line and monitoring the condition of the finished product. The middle line operator may also be required to perform other duties as assigned by the direct line supervisors.
Required Competencies
· The Middle Line Operator is a third-level position and requires a complete on-the-job training program and close supervision for the first month. This is to be followed by continuous OJT for training in more complex and new procedures.
· Facility with basic math skills is needed.
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions without follow-up is needed.
· Ability to work efficiently in an unsupervised setting is necessary.
Performance Standards
· Maintains and performs the functions and duties of the Middle Line Operator. Records, reports and complies with established practices for the company. These duties are performed in an efficient and timely manner.
Physical Demands
· The physical demands described here are those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job.
· While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk over loud equipment. There is required continual walking. Occasionally the employee may sit or stand. The employee will use hands and fingers to handle or move objects, tools or controls; will also reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
· The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities are close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
· The work environment is a manufacturing process environment. The noise level is usually moderate to moderately loud.
Experience, Education/Training and License
· A High School Diploma or equivalent is required for this job.
