Responsibilities
We are seeking a Plastics Formulations/Polymer Chemist in our Research Development Department. The Plastics Formulations/Polymer Chemist will perform the following duties:
· Support the Research Development function
· Mixing/compounding for TPE product lines
· Quality Control
· Develop new products
· Run instruments for polymer testing
· Carry out organic reactions and analyze products using chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques.
· Troubleshooting
· Maintain detailed lab notebooks
Requirements
Bachelors or Masters degree in polymer chemistry or related field, plus 5 years experience in TPE/TPV formulation development required. Experience in injection molding and extruder design, processing and testing methods, and instrumentation in plastics is desired. Must be flexible in order to adjust to the daily demands of this fast-paced position. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel required.
Knowledge of spectroscopic and chromatographic techniques would be a plus.
