We are seeking a Plastics Laboratory Technician for our Research Development Department. The Plastics Laboratory Technician will perform the following duties:
Mixing/compounding for the TPE product line
Quality Control on all jobs
Run injection molding and twin screw extruder machines
Recommend compounding and testing methods
Maintain laboratory testing instruments
Enter specifications and other data into company proprietary system
Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks
Requirements
A minimum of 5 years of mixing and compounding experience is required.
Experience desired: lab compounding and testing in the plastics industry, TPE/TPV formulations development, lab injection molding and extrusion techniques, experience handling equipments and a variety of TPE materials. Must be flexible in order to adjust to the daily demands of this fast-paced position. Must be organized, professional, able to prioritize work, and customer-service oriented. Ability to follow detailed instructions is critical. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel required, ACT! helpful. High school diploma or equivalent required. Coursework toward an advanced degree desired.
