Platform Development Engineer Job in Washington, District Of Columbia US

They are a growing startup team within the parent company, which is owned by major players in the entertainment industry with offices in the heart of San Francisco and Washington DC. Position Summary
They're looking for software engineers to help with everything except the games: their Facebook application, user accounts, security, payments infrastructure, viral tuning, database optimizations, A/B testing, scaling, and experiments.

Primary Responsibilities
The company test everything with “experiments”: small changes to the application, implemented in 1-2 days, and placed into our multivariate testing framework.

· Develop and launch 3-5 experiments per week.

· Invent new experiments, either for yourself to develop, or other engineers to develop.

· Scale: we have millions of daily users generating 10,000+ transactions per second. You need to make sure each of those transactions succeeds so that every one of our users can enjoy a great game.

Requirements
Note: We don’t care about buzzwords and we don’t hire for a particular software stack. We know that great engineers can be successful in any technology.

· You possess a deep and thorough understanding of browsers, the web, and web applications.

· You’ve been using a modern web framework like Rails, Django, Spring, ASP.NET MVC, Zend, etc.

· You’re comfortable working on both the “back-end” and “front-end” of an application.

· You know what color #FF0000 is.

· You thrive when given broad objectives with minimal supervision.

· You have excellent written and verbal communications.

Nice to Have

· Experience in the gaming industry.

· Experience building Facebook applications.

· Experience with high performance Java.

· Background or degree in statistics.

· Good at Ping Pong, Rock Band, or Just Dance 3
