PL/SQL Oracle Developer - Regulatory Reporting - 6 months

A top tier Investment Bank is looking for 3 experienced PL/SQL developer to join their Finance Control (Regulatory Reporting) team. Regulatory Reporting (Financial Control) Technology is a part of Global Finance Technology responsible for providing regulatory reporting systems to the Banks finance department to aid compliance with the Basel accords. The department is primarily responsible for gathering data from the Bank's trading systems and producing Risk Weighted Asset calculations on the Bank's central regulatory system.

Main Duties:

Technical Responsibilities
Analysis:
* Requirements analysis for system enhancements and changes
* Estimation of development effort expected to deliver requirement
Design:
* Interpretation and understanding of functional specifications
* Writing technical design documents adhering to predefined standards
Code:
* Hands on development of quality PL/SQL code on Oracle databases, delivering the functionality detailed in the technical specifications
* Ensuring code written meets the predefined company and department standards
Quality Assurance:
* Conducting peer reviews and providing constructive feedback
Testing:
* Preparation of detailed unit test cases
* Execution of unit test cases and documentation of results
* Providing support during QA and UAT test phases
* Diagnosis and resolution of defects found during QA and UAT test phases
Implementation:
* Training and knowledge transfer to support team
Post-Implementation:
* Point of contact for support team, investigating and resolving issues found in production

Requirements:

Oracle 9 10, PL/SQL, Stored procedures, Database design, performance tuning
* Perforce or other source code control tools
* Knowledge of software development 'best practices'
* Good knowledge of the software development life cycle
* Analytical skills - ability to investigate and resolve issues in a high-pressured environment
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to multitask
* Estimation

Working knowledge of additional languages, tools (C#, Business Objects, ASP .net, MS-Access, MS-Excel, SQL Server, Sybase)
* Scripting languages (shell, perl), Unix, Autosys, Windows scripting

* Knowledge of investment banking industry and regulatory reporting functions
* Ability to analyse business requirements and translate into functional requirements
* Experience working with a variety of software development methodologies including predictive agile methods.
