Chevron's Environmental Management Company (EMC) is accepting online applications for the position of Plug and Abandonment Well Site Manager located in Covington, Louisiana.

Overview:
This position will oversee contractor execution of well abandonment procedures, ensuring safe work practices are used as well as sound practices in execution, and provides accurate daily operational reports.

Position Details:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Oversees contractor execution of well abandonment procedures
  • Ensuring safe work practices are used as well as sound practices in execution.
  • Provides accurate daily operational reports.
  • Troubleshoots downhole well problems and participates in analyzing downhole conditions and their mechanical resolution.
  • Coordinates multiple contractor activities and logistics.
  • Works with other Chevron departments for marine and helicopter transportation.
  • Assist project engineers in developing procedures and work schedules, preparing cost estimates, and securing the necessary equipment and services to conduct offshore well abandonment operations.

    Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of directly related experience.
  • Planning and execution of offshore well intervention and/or well abandonment operations, including cement circulation and squeezing
  • Experience in planning and managing complex well intervention and/or well abandonment operations and associated tools, equipment, and marine vessels in offshore environment within assigned scope, timeframe, and budget.
  • Experience with coil tubing and snubbing unit operations, particularly in milling and fishing activities.
  • Offshore project coordination experience in executing well intervention, workover, and/or well PA operations.
  • Well Control certification required within 6 months of employment.
  • Driving incident-free operations with contractors is critically important, especially experience stewarding HES programs and processes, experience with various safety system tools (such as Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Behavior Based Safety Observation process (BBSO), Permit to Work, and Incidnet investigaton/Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Most well abandonment operations are conducted at various offshore locations, which requires travel by boat or helicopter. There are also some onshore well abandonment projects in southern Louisiana and Alabama.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years of directly related experience.
  • Experience with rigless well PA operations and/or remediating behind-pipe flow (primarily gas).

    Relocation Options:

    Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.
