Chevron's Environmental Management Company (EMC) is accepting online applications for the position of Plug and Abandonment Well Site Manager located in Midland, Texas.

Overview:
This job is responsible for providing technical, consulting and project management services for onshore decommissioning and remediation work while developing procedures, preparing cost estimates, providing permitting support and preparing schedules for onshore well abandonment.

Position Details:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Working closely with asset team engineers to develop PA candidate lists.
  • Securing the necessary equipment and services to conduct well abandonment operations.
  • Providing oversight to Field Company Representative.
  • Supervision of field activates to ensure all OE, safe work practices and regulatory requirements are in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Actively provides coaching to well site contractors is committed to improving safety performance.
  • Champions ensures the use of safe work practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Closely monitors operational parameters utilizes data to improve efficiency.
  • Gathers lessons learned, best practices process improvement suggestions from UBU well improvement team to continually improve safety and execution performance.
  • Works effectively with both internal and external business partners in well PA execution efforts.
  • Provides clear expectations to business partners at well-site safety meetings.
  • Oversees contractor execution of well abandonment procedures
  • Ensuring safe work practices are used as well as sound practices in execution.
  • Provides accurate daily operational reports.
  • Troubleshoots downhole well problems and participates in analyzing downhole conditions and their mechanical resolution.
  • Coordinates multiple contractor activities and logistics.
  • Assist project engineers in developing procedures and work schedules, preparing cost estimates, and securing the necessary equipment and services to conduct offshore well abandonment operations.

    Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of directly related experience.
  • Experience in planning and managing complex, multi-faceted well abandonment projects involving cementing services, wireline operations, coil tubing services, snubbing services and rig operations within assigned scope, timeframe, and budget for both technical and decommissioning activities.
  • Well Control certification required within 6 months of employment.
  • Driving incident-free operations with contractors is critically important, especially experience stewarding HES programs and processes, experience with various safety system tools (such as Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Behavior Based Safety Observation process (BBSO), Permit to Work, and Incidnet investigaton/Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Most well abandonment operations are conducted at the wellsite, which requires travel throughout the Mid-Continent area. Locations are mostly in Texas, New Mexico, and Rockies.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years of directly related experience.
