Plumbing Designer Job in London, London Uk

Our Client are market leaders in the design, build and install of complex Mechanical systems into the construction ans building services sectors. Due to strong growth throughout 2011 they require an additional Designer to join their busy Design Department.
The ideal candidate will have aminimum of 5 years relevant design experience with a particular emphasis on designing plumbing systems for commercial office space.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

a)     Ensure that the entirety of the Design:

1.     Is complete and functionally accurate (e.g. avoids clashes) within the scope of works

2.     Satisfied the project requirements and specifications

3.     Title block is filled out correctly

4.     Is free from spelling mistakes

5.     Is in line with relevant company and national standards and regulations (e.g Document L)

6.     Is Released in line with the programme

7.     Mechanical services and plumbing a fully coordinated with the rest of the works

8.     Includes a complete Bill of Materials including all plumbing fittings required

9.     Has been assessed and addresses buildability

10.  Minimises Risks in the construction, installation and maintenance of the Design and any residual risks not ordinarily associated with the nature of the works have been recorded in the Risk Register.

 

b)    Plan own work to fit relevant deadlines and around other activities

c)     Uphold company policy and other standards in own work and raise alert to suspected oversights by others, particularly with respect to Health and Safety risks

d)    Check own work

e)     Co-ordinate with other Designers, Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing and others as necessary

f)     Manage own time effectively

g)    Follow standard processes prescribed by internal protocol

h)     Actively participate in knowledge sharing and development

 

 

GENERAL DUTIES.

 

b)    Use Autodesk Inventor tube and pipe (Ultimate) to create the design in three dimensions, and include a Bill of Materials

c)    Attend meetings as necessary

d)    Assist the factory in take-off of the materials form the Bill of Materials and manufacture in line with the design and the site with installation

e)    Attend training courses as and when necessary

f)     Other duties as required
