The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Health Solutions Management division which focuses on Healthcare IT solutions for our Federal, State, and Local government clients. This individual will serve as the PMO Analyst on a mission critical effort for CMS. This position will be located in Woodlawn, MD.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain project planning, monitoring and control processes, policies and standard operating procedures
Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and client
Develop and maintain detailed master project schedule and WBS using Microsoft Project
Maintain action item, issues and risk logs
Solicit, analyze and proactively challenge schedule inputs/updates
Monitor and review status of projects and budgets and work with PMs and Business Management to communicate status and recommend corrective action/mitigation to ensure cost and schedule targets are achieved
Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
Provide weekly and monthly updates, schedule/risk reviews, and timely reporting for program and customer reviews
Support the development of training materials for project planning/scheduling training
Support Financial and EVM reporting and analyses
Support project communications, (Monthly Status Reports, ad-hoc requests, etc.) by gathering, analyzing, preparing, summarizing and reporting project data
Provide project meeting support (e.g., scheduling, meeting facilitation and minutes)
Train project staff on project delivery processes
Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables
Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions
Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, the candidate must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
A Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution is required with 7 or more years of professional experience; or a Masters Degree from an accredited institution with 6-8 years of related experience or equivalent
Direct work experience in PMO/project management capacity
Requires expert level knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication for presentations at all levels
Strong analytical abilities
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with critical partners, both internal and external
A proven ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, balancing multiple tasks, changing requirements and priorities, and short deadline
Knowledge of PMBOK/CMMI
Experience with and understanding of doing business with the federal government
Knowledge of SDLC
Preferred Qualifications
PMP Certification
Experience and/or working knowledge of CMS's Integrated IT Investment and System Development Life Cycle Framework
