PMO Specialist recruitment
Our client is looking for someone who has gained experience within a PMO function within Technology. This role will not be primarily focused on reporting but will have exposure to managing governance, planning risks and finance. The successful candidate will need to have an understanding of financial reporting required for projects and programmes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Reporting - pulling together and understanding draft versions of various reports for the portfolio heads to review for submission to Business Management. Reports are produced weekly, monthly, quarterly and ad hoc (Technology Monthly Report, Top Initiatives Report, COO milestones etc)
- Status Reporting - including setting standards for programme managers, collating and reviewing status reports and summarising reports and status for communication to senior stakeholders
- Packs - Provide support in producing draft packs for investment / steering committee meetings
- Business Management Support – supporting the business management team in gathering the relevant data from projects and providing analyst for them to complete their management reporting
- Programme and Application Roadmaps - maintaining these so as to communicate the vision and timeline of the overall change programme to key stakeholders
- Risk and Issue Support - assisting in the tracking programme and cross-programme risks, issues and dependencies, working with Programme Managers to ensure these are captured, understood and managed
- Project Management Support - Working with programme managers to creating and manage project plans and using these to identify dependencies and resource bottlenecks
- Finance - ensure all the forecasts produced by the project managers are consistent and correctly entered in resource tracking tool
- Risks Issues - manage the risks and issues log and ensure latest data is available
- Sharepoint - set up, maintenance of access, ensuring all documents lodged in key areas
- Deliverable Tracking – chase / monitor sign off on deliverables
- Programme Dashboard - update, or follow up with Project Managers to update, project dashboard. Ensure consistency with underlying plans.
- Administrative Support - covering a range of activities including setting up meetings to ad hoc requests for support
The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Strong PMO background, preferably within Technology
- Strong analysis skills to provide insight for reporting
- Reporting experience with an understanding of basic accountancy policies
- Experience in collating reporting packs, assisting in the design and content of packs if necessary
- Good understanding of the technology project lifecycle and the processes required to support successful project delivery
- Strong MS Office skills
- Strong numerate background
- SharePoint knowledge
- Good working knowledge of Clarity
- Experience with Agile development practices and tools
