PORTFOLIO ADMINSTRATOR recruitment
Reconciliation experience is a plus. Computer skills are a must. The candidate should be a quick learner, organized, able to work with tight deadlines and to put in the extra time when business conditions warrant. Candidate must be an excellent communicator, possess strong analytical interpersonal skills and be a team player.
The firm is a private, independent investment management company managing over $19 billion in assets, including separately managed equity, fixed-income and balanced accounts for corporations, institutions and individuals and mutual funds.
Key Areas of Focus:
- Accounting, reconciliation, reporting compliance for Institutional investment portfolios
- New Account Security Setups
- Updating security information including type, coupon, prices, yields, sectors, factors, etc.
- Responding to client requests, coordinating client reporting
- Managing custodian relationships
- Assisting with making operations "ready" for the growth of the business
- Working with portfolio management to provide accounting cash flows info
- Working with managers/directors to coordinate new processes/technology
- Some trade support and/or trade settlements exposure
Desired Experience/Knowledge:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or Math
- 1-3 years of portfolio accounting experience - within an investment management company, investment operations service provider, and/or Public Accounting firm within an investment management practice desired.
- Strong knowledge of MS Excel, Word Outlook. Microsoft Access is a Plus.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Experience with Advent Geneva, Bond Edge or Bloomberg a +.
- Experience with fixed income accounting and/or trade settlements a +.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with tight deadlines and organization is a must.
