The Portfolio Advisor is
responsible for overseeing the
management of the portfolio of
projects under their control that
are approved by the PBM governing
management committee (PPC) and the specific Business Service he/she supports . The primary
responsibilities include overseeing compliance with all processes and procedures associated with the intake, approval and tracking processes including the business case model, prioritization model,
approval processes, and reporting
requirements throughout the life
cycle of a project or program.

ACCOUNTABILITY
• Oversee the creation and
maintenance of the portfolio of
approved projects and programs
under their control
• Demonstrate full working
knowledge of the Portfolio
Management tool (Clarity) and
associated processes, and
procedures
• Demonstrate in-depth
understanding of the Business Case model used to provide financial substantiation of proposed business cases
• Demonstrate intellectual
and working knowledge of the
prioritization model utilized by
the PPC committee to insure
continuous alignment of projects
with business goals and financial
strategies
• Deliver high quality actionable reporting to all constituencies
• Enforce all strategies and
standards associated with the
Portfolio management function
• Lead the management of ongoing demand and changes to the portfolio of projects
• Oversee the Annual Planning
process and associated changes to
the portfolio
Bachelor’s Degree in
Computer Science, Business
Administration, Engineering or
related discipline with information
technology focus
• Professional training in
Portfolio management strategies,
processes and tools
• Possesses expert knowledge
and 3+ years of portfolio
management experience by a proven
track record of success in managing large portfolios of projects.
• 9 or more years of
professional, related experience
(consulting, software development, client management, project management), with a minimum of 6 years experience in the IT industry.
• Proven knowledge of
Portfolio management tools for
large organizations (e.g., Clarity, HP etc)

1. Working with Business
Service groups oversee the approval of new demand and changes to previously approved projects
2. Ensure compliance with all
process and procedures associated
with the creation and maintenance
of the portfolio of projects
3. Act in a support role in
guiding the Business Service Group through the portfolio management process to insure decisions are in line with company strategic and financial goals on an ongoing basis
4. Develop and produce
portfolio management reporting to
all constituencies.
5. Insure optimization of the
portfolio of approved projects by
conducting regular “what if
“analyses on behalf of the
supported Business Service groups
