Department Overview:
The Portfolio Compliance Group at BlackRock is seeking outstanding candidates to join a vibrant and growing team. The group is a critical unit within the organization and is a central link in the trade flow process. The position has significant visibility with senior management and direct interaction with other units of the firm, including Portfolio Management, Product Development, Client Services and Trading Operations.
Responsibilities are dynamic, but typically include:
- Understanding client and regulatory investment guidelines and translating them into BlackRock's Aladdin compliance system.
- Monitoring and reviewing compliance rule exceptions on a daily basis for assigned accounts.
- Becoming acquainted with BlackRock's various Aladdin applications, trade flow process, and data environment.
- Designing new system rules, enhancing existing compliance coding, and investigating or troubleshooting potential errors when needed.
- Participating in efficiency and improvement initiatives by providing ideas and suggestions on possible enhancements to systems or processes.
- Supporting the APAC regulatory threshold monitoring and reporting activities.
Qualifications:
College graduates with a background in finance or similar fields are preferred. Knowledge of financial instruments and markets is beneficial. Strong computer skills are required. Knowledge of programming languages (such as Visual Basic, C++, or Java) and an understanding of relational database concepts (including SQL) are beneficial. Additionally, close attention to detail, superb communication skills and an ability to contribute in a team environment are critical.
