Portfolio Loan Officer

Administers and monitors portfolio of Commercial loans, personally managing or assisting lenders in managing loan relationships within the group.

Accountabilities:
- Provides high levels of ongoing Customer service answers questions and resolves problems. Visits Customers independently and with commercial
loan officers to maintain strong business relationships.
- May be assigned own accounts and/or share account management responsibilities with commercial loan officers.
- Performs periodic inspections at Customer sites to audit accounts and ensure adherence to loan agreements and terms. Takes appropriate action as
necessary to correct deficiencies.
- Administers existing loans to ensure complete conformity with terms and adequacy of documentation, including preparation of criticized asset reports
and review memos coordinates with operations and processing areas to ensure loan payments are collected and recorded remains informed of
developing trends. Ensures Customers adhere to loan covenants maintains current risk ratings on Customers and makes appropriate comments in
Customer credit files to ensure information remains current.
- Communicates credit decisions to Customers as directed and negotiates specific terms and conditions for basic, straightforward loans within parameters defined by credit decisions.
- Coordinates loan documentation preparation, reviews documents and assists with finalizing loan agreements with Customers.
- May utilize limited personal credit authority under the direction of the Relationship Manager, for the benefit of Customers and efficiency of the lending process
- Ensures accuracy and maintenance of Customer records and files and updates information as needed. Prepares more in-depth management reports summarizing portfolio activity.
- Pays specific attention to credit administration, exception and risk management based on common metrics.
- Maintains and enhances knowledge of pertinent lending and risk management issues and information that is useful for the Region's lenders and support
staff.
- Ensures loans are administered according to agreements, Company policies and applicable legal and regulatory guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills Abilities:
- 4 year degree or equivalent experience
- 0-1/3-5 years related experience required
- In-depth understanding of commercial credit decision process.
- Strong credit, financial analysis and accounting skills.
- Knowledge of commercial legal and regulatory guidelines.
- Proven Customer service and relationship management skills, including track record of building and expanding Customer relationships.
- Attention to detail.
- Supervisory skills, if lead position.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- PC skills.
